Our Facilitators, volunteers, counsellors and therapists.
All our facilitators and volunteers are experienced youth workers and we have Forest School Leaders and BELA (Basic Expedition Leaders Award) qualified staff.
Staying safe.
Safety is our number one priority. Facilitators carry out full risk assessments for all activities.
All Staff and volunteers are cleared by Disclosure Scotland (we will use PVG scheme in the future) and attend a full induction which includes Child Protection and Fire Safety Policies.
Two facilitators and two volunteers, all experienced Youth Workers, work with each group and numbers of young people are restricted to ensure adequate supervision for activities
There is always a qualified first-aider on site and our training programme is continually upgraded in response to any issues. We also encourage all volunteers and staff to undergo general first aid training followed by first aid for wilderness environments.
We are on the City of Edinburgh Council's Approved Provider List for outdoor activities.
After Support.
We offer additional support after the Youth Vision Programme to any young people who need it. This takes place within school at a time agreed with guidance and support staff.
Our After Support includes art therapy and counselling and the team are all members of their particular statutory body i.e. BACP - the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and undergo regular supervision.
